Meet Bangelle by Elle Pirmoradi

“The collection, launched three years ago, was born out of my affinity for sleek, symmetrical, clean-lined designs and my passion for stacking bracelets,” Elle explains. “Bangles are a streamlined and chic way to add a luxurious touch to everyday jewellery. There’s something sturdy yet understated about bold pieces worn around the wrist.”

Her idea to develop a niche collection began with a focus on specific details: “The initial bangles do not have a visible clasp or opening mechanism. They are perfectly symmetrical, solidly locked bangles that sit snugly around the wrist,” she describes. “The bangle design is as uncompromising as it is strong. The invisible tension clasp is cleverly hidden in the center, allowing for a seamless finish that stays securely in place.” Elle also aimed to attract customers much like herself who are aficionados of arm layering.

Elle’s first foray into the jewelry industry was as the right-hand of a renowned jewelry designer in Beverly Hills. “From then on my love and appreciation for jewelry deepened. But I took time off to travel and live in Paris, Berlin and Bangkok before settling back in Los Angeles, falling in love and having two children,” Elle explains. “All of the places, people, customs and styles I experienced have influenced my work. I draw inspiration from different sources.”

“Parisian style is timeless. Berlin has a big place in my heart, being a hub for virtually anything creative. Having lived in Bangkok broadened my cultural horizon; it also made me put more emphasis on my jewelry selection. In a hot climate, one’s wardrobe often becomes less important, which leaves more room to express who you are through accessories.”

“Ultimately,” she says, “I strive to realize my creative drive by capturing LA’s zeitgeist by uniting mundanity and luxury.”

Elle has continued to develop her niche collection with different styles of diamond intensive geometric cuffs and adding spherical shapes, such as her abacus bangle with solid diamond balls.

Recently she has continued to expand while retaining her signature look and pieces. New styles include lighter weight cuffs that have the look of the bangles but take the volatile gold price into consideration. Other styles mimic the bangles through hoop earrings, stackable rings and necklaces which are, like the bracelets, handmade by Los Angeles artisans. “They are extensions of the pared down lines and circular shapes of the initial bangles. “These new pieces mark the brand’s evolution, flowing organically from its founding vision into new territory,” “I want people to think of Bangelle when they talk wrist candy,” Elle concludes. “But our story goes beyond bangles now.”
