We’re excited to share our latest interview with Elle, founder of Bangelle, and to introduce Spheres & Daggers - a collection that reflects a deeply considered balance of form, feeling, and modern identity.

There’s a strong sense of duality in this collection - strength and softness,structure and fluidity. How consciously do these contrasts shape your design language, and do they reflect something personal in the way you see the world?

This design language reflects my own personal perspective on the world, where I see beauty in the interplay of opposites. I'm fascinated by how seemingly contradictory qualities can complement and enhance one another. In my jewelry, the sharp edges of a dagger-inspired bangle are softened by the gentle curves, while the solid weight of a sphere is offset by the airy negative space around it. To me, this duality symbolizes the multifaceted nature of the modern human: both powerful and vulnerable, confident yet approachable.

Can you talk us through how a piece in this collection comes to life - from initial idea or sketch through to its final form? To understand how you balance aesthetic intention with wearability and structure.

The design process often begins with good old-fashioned paper and pencil sketching.Sometimes I have a clear vision in my mind that I just need to quickly translate onto the page. Other times, I go through an iterative process of sketching, refining, and reworking the designs until I land on something I'm truly excited about. Once I have a sketch I'm happy with, I send it over to my team of skilled jewelers. They take the 2Ddesign and create a 3D digital file, which allows us to prototype and refine the piece further. This back-and-forth is crucial to achieving the perfect balance of aesthetics and wearability. The most exciting part is receiving the prototype and testing it!

Is there one piece within Spheres n Daggers that feels especially significant to you? Perhaps something that captures the essence of the collection or pushed you creatively?

The piece that I feel truly captures the essence of the 'Spheres and Daggers' collection is our Dagger Bracelet. This bold, statement-making cuff features a delicate chain with an actual dagger charm that dangles elegantly from the wrist. Designing this piece was a true creative challenge, as I sought to incorporate such a dramatic element in a way that still felt refined and wearable. The dagger itself is crafted from 18K solid gold, with a tapered point that evokes a spark of danger. Yet the way it moves and sways with the wearer's every gesture gives it an unexpected grace and fluidity.

Each piece is handcrafted in Los Angeles - how important is that proximity to craftsmanship in your process, and how does it influence the final outcome of the jewellery?

Having our Bangelle pieces handcrafted right here in Los Angeles is essential to the quality and integrity of the final product. Being in such close proximity to our skilled artisans allows for an unparalleled level of hands-on collaboration and quality control throughout the entire production process. When a new Bangelle design is ready to come to life, we work side-by-side with our jewelers, meticulously overseeing every step- from the initial 3D modeling to the final stone setting. This direct involvement ensures that the end result is a true manifestation of our creative vision, with no detail overlooked or compromised. We can trust that every curve, every edge, every setting is executed with the utmost precision and care.

You describe the pieces as almost talismanic - imbued with a sense of power and presence. What do you hope someone feels when they wear Spheres n Daggers?

When you slip on a piece from the 'Spheres and Daggers' collection, my hope is that you feel a profound sense of power, protection, and personal transformation.These are not just beautiful accessories - they're talismans imbued with intention and energy. The bold, architectural forms, the weighty 18K gold construction, the sharp,dagger-like elements - all of these design choices are deliberate, meant to evoke a feeling of strength, resilience, and unshakeable confidence.I want the person who wears these pieces to feel like an unstoppable force - someone who is not just adorned, but truly armored. The Dagger Bracelet, for example, isn't just a stylish accent; it's a symbol of our willingness to face any challenge head-on, to confront our fears and emerge victorious. At the same time, there's an undeniable grace and elegance to these designs. Ultimately, my intention with this collection is to empower us to step into our fullest, most authentic self. These pieces activate our inner strength,clarity, and sense of personal sovereignty. When we put them on I want us to be ready to take on the world with unwavering confidence and poise.

Bangelle began with a strong focus on bangles and the idea of stacking - how does this collection expand on that foundation or challenge it in new ways?

The 'Spheres and Daggers' collection represents an exciting evolution and expansion of the core Bangelle aesthetic. While bangles and stacking have always been at the heart of the brand, this new collection adds to those foundations in bold, innovative ways.At its core, Bangelle has always been about empowering us to express our individuality and personal style through layered, customizable jewelry. The bangle stack has become a signature look - a way for our clients to build a truly unique, meaningful wardrobe of gold accessories.With 'Spheres and Daggers', we're taking that core concept and pushing it in more playful, novel directions. Yes, there are still beautifully crafted bangles in the collection,but they feature new silhouettes that create a dynamic visual interplay when stacked.Ultimately, I see this collection as a natural evolution - a way to keep our core DNA fresh hand exciting, while also allowing us to explore new facets of layering jewelry. It's about honoring the foundations of the brand, while also pushing the boundaries of what Bangelle can be.

As an independent designer, building meaningful visibility is key. How has being part of the NouvelleBox platform shaped the way your work is seen and discovered?

Being part of Nouvelle Box has allowed me to transcend the limitations I faced as a solo independent designer. I now have access to a level of visibility, credibility, and industry relationships that would have taken me years to build on my own. But it's not just about the increased exposure - I'm so grateful that the platform has chosen to highlight my new collection! This is a chance for me to showcase the thoughtful design and craftsmanship that goes into creating pieces that are not only beautiful, but also highly functional and empowering for a diverse range of wearers. It's been transformative for expanding the reach of my brand.
